Welcome to Mic(robe)'d up.
I'm Charlotte Wermser, last summer I finished my Ph.D. studies in infection biology in Würzburg, Germany. In my research, I studied social communities of bacteria ("biofilms"), but the microbial world holds so many interesting and fascinating stories that go beyond the topic of my thesis. That's why I talk about bacteria in science slams (in German) and for this blog I will mic' up the microbes to eavesdrop on the latest from their lives (and the lives of microbiologists). Mic'd up wants to give you lighthearted insights into the field of microbiology, combining the latest research with general glances at microbes.
